The Legacy of House of Gong
Every extraordinary place has a story.
Long before House of Gong became part of our vision, it was the home of a man whose life was devoted to music, sound, culture, and bringing people together. His waterfront sanctuary was filled with healing instruments, artifacts collected throughout his travels, and a kitchen thoughtfully equipped for preparing meals that celebrated culture, connection, and shared experiences.
He invited us to visit simply to share his love of music and the journey that had shaped his life.
What began as a conversation became something much more.
Greg and I were entrusted with four handcrafted gongs, along with several meaningful instruments from his collection. More than gifts, they represented a passing of inspiration - a reminder that music has the power to connect people across generations.
As House of Gong evolves, our intention is not to erase the story that came before us, but to build upon it with deep respect. We want to preserve the heart of this place while creating a new chapter where music, creativity, wellbeing, and community continue to flourish.
